The 2026 Annual Gathering is a hybrid (in-person and online) event, taking place Sunday, July 19 – Friday, July 24, at Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We’re excited to announce that this year the Gathering includes a pre-Gathering Retreat, Friday, July 17 – Sunday, July 19. The Retreat is an in-person-only event and requires a minimum number of participants to proceed, so be sure to register early.
What is a Canadian Yearly Meeting Annual Gathering?
The Annual Gathering is our time to come together from our various places in the country, to be in conversation with one another, to engage in spiritual refreshment together, to hold learning sessions about faith and faith-in-action, to enjoy the company of F/friends, and to conduct the business of being the Canadian Quaker collective in the world.
Our annual gatherings strive to make a blended space for those who attend in person and those who attend online. The call of a Quaker Meeting is Come, and we mean it. Come as you are able. Some years, we hold the Gathering entirely online, and some years we blend both experiences.
We conduct much of our business in online meetings several times a year. So, the summer meeting isn’t our one time of being ‘In-Session’; there are smaller business sessions throughout the year.
But, as for the energy, joy, challenge, learning, welcoming of Spirit, fostering of our young ones, that’s all here at a CYM Annual Gathering. We heed our Sunderland P. Gardner lecture, participate in the Bible or Quaker Study workshop series, sharpen our ideas in Special Interest Groups, hold space for Affinity Groups, lift up our children and youth program, come together in worship and worship sharing, and—oh yes—conduct the business of being the Quaker voice in Canada.

It has been our practice to invite Friends into community just prior to the Annual Gathering into a time of guided stillness and reflection. While the full Gathering has a bit of bustle, we hope the Retreat provides a quiet time within community for spiritual refreshment. Expect fewer people, more being, less doing.
We invite you to explore the Annual Gathering website at the link below. Discover all the exciting details about registration, accommodation, volunteer opportunities, the schedule, and more. We can’t wait to see you there!
