2026 Annual Gathering, July 19* – 24, online and in-person in Winnipeg at the Canadian Mennonite University.

John Samson Fellows of Winnipeg Monthly Meeting has accepted the invitation to deliver the Sunderland P. Gardner Lecture. John is a cultural worker, activist, educator and weaver. He is finishing his term as clerk of Canadian Friends Service Committee’s Transformative Justice Committee.
Geoffry Garver of Montreal Monthly Meeting has accepted the invitation to lead the Quaker Studies workshop. Geoff teaches environmental and law courses at McGill and Concordia Universities and coordinates law and governance research for the Leadership for the Ecozoic program of McGill University and University of Vermont. He grew up in a Quaker family in Western New York and serves on the Canadian Friends Service Committee executive committee.
Evan Welkin, Executive Secretary of the Friends World Committee for Consultation Section of the Americas, is an invited guest of Gathering in 2026. We’re looking forward to celebrating and deepening our ties with the world Quaker community.
Nathalie Brunet returns to lead the Children & Youth program. As always the program will be play-based and nature-rich, making use of the environment surrounding campus, and focused on friendship and community building. There will be a field trip in the area, and this year, there will also be a short daily “Quaker Learning Time”, where we will explore Quaker spirituality, testimonies, and role models from our history that may offer some inspiration for our own time. The Children and Youth Program is also calling for adult volunteer Group Leaders. These required positions are financially supported for travel, meals, and lodging at CYM. A police check is required. Please contact Nathalie at .
*And what?! …. the Pre-Gathering Retreat returns?! July 17 – 19!
The Continuing Meeting of Ministry and Counsel proposes a pre-Gathering Retreat for 2026!
The retreat is shaping up to begin Friday July 17 with a community supper and continue through to Sunday morning July 19 Meeting for Worship. Programming details to follow in the new year. The retreat needs a minimum number of participants. Please plan to register for the retreat and Gathering early, so that plans can unfold.
