Enhanced Children & Youth Program
We seek to re-invigorate the Children and Youth programming at the Annual Gathering. We encourage all CYM families to come be part of the fun!
If you would like to participate in the program, or if you would like to volunteer, please get in touch using the information below.
Nathalie Brunet has agreed to serve as Youth and Children’s Program Coordinator and also to lead the Youth Group. Many will know Nathalie from her past service to CYM through Program Committee. She is a member of Annapolis Valley MM and lives in St. John’s, Newfoundland where she attends the St. John’s Worship Group.
She is a recently retired junior high science teacher and served as the teacher-facilitator to the school’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance, formerly known as Gay-Straight Alliance. She does pottery, plays recorder and D&D, hikes, and gardens.
If you have a child or young person attending who is under 18, a parental release form and waiver will need to be filled out and signed. This can go either by email to Nathalie, at or be handed to her in person at the Gathering.

Message from Nathalie Brunet, Children & Youth Coordinator
Just like the main on-site CYM gathering, the in-person Children and Youth Program now has to be rebuilt after a three-year interruption. As a first-time Coordinator, I am excited by the possibilities of coming together and I am busy imagining and bringing together the pieces needed to create a shared experience of joy and growth for CYM families and Young Friends.
Some of those pieces are mine to offer. I commit my own leadership, creativity and years of experience as a teacher to the tasks of supporting Group Leaders, planning activities, and personally leading the teenage group. Other pieces have to be brought in by others. I am now reaching out to CYM families and recruiting Group Leaders. Planning for the program will reflect the community that gathers for it. In a relatively small community such as CYM, the composition of the Children & Youth program always varies from year to year, and after this three-year interruption the uncertainty is even greater. So we need to hear from you as early in the process as possible, even if you are still in the “thinking about it” stage, feeling free to change your mind later.
If your family would like to participate in Yearly Meeting online rather than in person, please also get in touch with us. We have a selection of family-friendly online activities available that can be implemented.
Whether you are interested in volunteering with the program or thinking about bringing your family, please get in touch with me now at Tell us about you or your family, what skills and interests you/they would bring, and we will put the pieces together to create a program that will enrich everyone.
For volunteering with the Children & Youth Program, please see the Volunteer Job Description.
